In BeCoach Academy we believe that coaching is not just a skill set and it is even not just a profession. It is more than that. It is a way of living and a way of being.
Mastering being a coach transformed many aspects of my life. The most significant impact it made on my relationship with myself and my relationship with other people. Let me explain. Let us take three of the most important coaching competencies as an example:
1. The ability to listen. Really listen to everything of what your coaching client is saying and how they are saying it.
2. The ability to be present. I mean really present every moment of the coaching session.
3. The ability to stay non-judgmental and not to put your labels of ‘right’ or ‘wrong’, ‘good’ or ‘bad’ at everything your coachee is saying or doing.
Imagine you mastered these skills. You can listen. You stay present and non-judgemental during the coaching session. But when it ends you come home and begin to judge your family members and friends, constantly interrupting them with your opinion and your ideas of how things should be. Or you simply think of something totally different while they are talking to you.
Well, it is hard to imagine. If you truly master those skills, they become a part of your personality, which influences the quality of your relationship with yourself and others. You become more patient. You learn to understand yourself and others, you learn to accept and to appreciate yourself and others. I learned. And I believe you will too if you decide to Be a Coach.
We look forward to welcoming you to BeCoach Academy as a student. Learn more about our Professional Coaching Diploma programme here.
