When Kaiyu joined BeCoach Academy, he already had a growing YouTube channel — a side project that started during the pandemic out of boredom and curiosity. What began as a simple attempt to share how he learned German evolved into a thriving platform with over 12,000 subscribers and deep personal meaning.
In the beginning, creating videos felt uncomfortable. It took hours to record and edit a single post. Yet Kaiyu stayed consistent, releasing one video per week for a year. He reached 3,000 followers and monetized his channel — then stopped. It had become a task, not a joy.
Later, he returned with a new intention: authenticity and connection. Instead of language tutorials, he began sharing reflections on life as a Chinese person living in Germany — topics like loneliness, belonging, confidence, and the mindset shifts that come with living abroad. These subjects resonated deeply. Eighty percent of his followers joined in the past year.
Kaiyu’s channel became more than content. It became a bridge — between cultures, between experiences, between human stories. Many of his current coaching clients first discovered him through his videos. His approach is simple: speak honestly, be compact, stay authentic, trust resonance, and keep going.
He summarizes his principles in what he calls his “SHIFT” model:
- Start – Press record. Execution over perfection.
- Honest – Be real. People recognize authenticity.
- Iterate – Improve through practice.
- Fun – For yourself and your audience.
- Trust – What you see is what you expect.
Kaiyu’s story is a reminder that visibility doesn’t begin with marketing — it begins with truth. By showing up as himself, he built trust, impact, and a business that reflects who he really is.
